Photography

I am a very keen photographer in my spare time..

It’s something I very much blame on my father, from whom I inherited a number cameras of various ages and configuration.

My “normal” kit is a Canon 7D mkII body with a combination of the following lenses.
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS macro
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L
Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM (Sold)
I also have a Giotto tripod, Canon 580 EX II flash, and a series of Cokin filters and a couple of remote release cables (one has a fully configurable set of options such as shutter release time, pause period, interval period, number of exposures etc….)

I am a kinda paranoid guy, and therefore I have a “backup” configuration.

My “backup” is a Canon 7D with a Canon EF-S 18-200 IS f/3.5-5.6

I also rather like my film photography.

There is something about the smell, the feel of film, both when loading it, and when shooting it, and then, when receiving the prints back from processing.

I have now purchased a Canon EOS 1V HS, which is Canon’s latest, and as of 2012, was *STILL* in production – 35mm film camera.

For the moment, I have coupled it to my 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens, although I have also coupled it with my Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 for the purposes of shooting the worlds only flying Avro Vulcan, XH-558 at RIAT in 2012.

I also tend to run some 120 film through a 1956 Voighlander Perkeo E of my Dad’s. This thing is amazing.

It’s slow work, but, by goodness, I love what comes out at the end…… and that I guess I why I do it…
